Cost Breakdown

We want to be completely transparent in what your donations will help with. So in all it's glory here is why we are trying to raise $20,000.

Insurance does not cover any of these costs:

  • $17,500- In Vitro procedure. With this cost we are essentially pre-paying for our procedures. This amount gives us 2 Fresh Cycles and 2 Frozen Cycles with ICSI (please see our "Useful Info" tab for an explanation of what all of this infertility lingo means) If we do not leave with a baby in our arms we get 50% of our money back to try again. It is kind of like an insurance plan. If our first IVF does not work we have already pre-paid for another try. However, if our first IVF works then we do not get to use our other 3 tries at a later date, but if there are any eggs left over we can freeze them and pay to use them when we are ready to try for another baby. We chose this route because one round of IVF on it's own is $10,000 and we have heard that it may take a couple tries to be successful.

  • One fresh round is about $12,000 with ICSI if we decide to go that route. (just for the procedure it does not cover everything below)
  • One frozen round if we have any embryos to freeze is about $2,000-$3,000 (just for the procedure meds will be a little cheaper and no anesthesia will be needed)

  • $2,000-$6,000- Medications (Pills and injectables)
  • $500- Anesthesiologist -I will need to be put under for my egg retrieval
  • $750- Storage for any extra embryos (If we have any, we can freeze any unused embryos to use, if we need, so we can have more kids in the future)

These things we will need to pay for before we start IVF and hopefully insurance will at least partially cover:
  • HSG-water ultrasound to make sure my tubes are clear
  • Birth Control- I will need to take birth control for a few weeks before we start to make sure I do not have any cysts and that my period doesn't start
  • Blood Tests-For both Adam and I. Makes sure everything is functioning properly before we being treatment.
